# What You'll Need:
→ Sausages
01 - 24 mini cocktail sausages (approximately 12.3 oz)
→ Pastry
02 - 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry (approximately 8.8 oz)
03 - 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
→ Garnish
04 - 2 tablespoons melted butter
05 - 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
06 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
07 - 1 star-shaped piece of cheddar or yellow bell pepper (for tree topper)
→ Dipping Sauce
08 - 4 tablespoons Dijon or honey mustard
09 - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
10 - 1 teaspoon honey
# Directions:
01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Unroll the puff pastry sheet and slice into 24 strips approximately 0.6 inches wide and 4 inches long.
03 - Wrap each mini sausage with one puff pastry strip, overlapping the ends slightly. Place each with the seam side down on the tray.
04 - Arrange wrapped sausages on the baking tray starting with a single sausage at the top, increasing by one sausage per row to form a triangular tree shape, ending with seven sausages at the base. Position the star-shaped cheese or pepper at the tree’s apex.
05 - Brush all pastry surfaces with beaten egg to promote golden browning.
06 - Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes until the pastry is fully puffed and golden brown.
07 - While baking, combine melted butter, finely chopped parsley, and grated Parmesan cheese if using.
08 - Remove the pastry tree from the oven and immediately brush with the parsley butter mixture for added flavor and shine.
09 - In a small bowl, thoroughly combine Dijon or honey mustard, mayonnaise, and honey.
10 - Serve the pigs in blanket Christmas tree warm alongside the prepared dipping sauce.
